Every background welcomed
Learners from every region, community and family situation are matched with the same care. No child is turned away for who they are or how they learn.

Inclusion, diversity and SEND
Some children learn differently. At Bright Minds, inclusion shapes how every lesson is run: vetted tutors adapt one-to-one teaching to how your child learns best, whatever their needs.
Understanding SEND
Special educational needs, or SEN, simply means a child needs teaching that is different from, or additional to, what most children their age receive. You may also see it written as SEND, special educational needs and disabilities. We use both, and they mean the same thing here. It is far more common than many families realise, and it is not a failing, not of the child, and not of you as a parent.
A learner might struggle with reading, find it hard to concentrate for long, feel anxious about answering in class, or need material presented in a particular way. None of this limits what a child can achieve. It only changes how they should be taught.
That belief is the heart of our approach to inclusion: a need describes how a child learns best, never what they can achieve.
Inclusion and diversity
Inclusion is not a policy on a page, it is how lessons are run. We welcome learners of every background, home language, culture, ability and learning pace, and we hold every tutor to the same standard of care.
Learners from every region, community and family situation are matched with the same care. No child is turned away for who they are or how they learn.
Tutors teach in clear English and use examples familiar to Zambian learners, drawing on home languages where it helps an idea land.
A need tells a tutor how to teach, it never decides what a child is capable of. Progress is measured against each learner's own last step, never a class average.
SEND lessons get the same five-stage tutor vetting, safeguarding checks and lesson quality assurance as every other lesson on the platform.
SEND needs
Every child is different, so this is a guide rather than a checklist. When you book, you can describe your child in their own words.
Lessons use structured phonics, reading aloud together, and written instructions broken into small steps, so reading differences never block learning in other subjects.
Tutors keep lessons short and focused, alternate activities, and give clear next steps so attention never becomes the reason a child falls behind.
Number work is built up slowly with visual aids and worked examples, rebuilding confidence before moving to exam technique.
Predictable lesson routines, advance notice of what comes next, and a calm one-to-one setting without the noise of a full classroom.
A patient, encouraging tutor helps a child answer questions they would never risk in class. Progress is measured against their own last step, never the class average.
Tutors can share materials in large print, read text aloud, and use captions and written chat on the lesson page so every learner can take part.
How we support SEND
In a class of forty, a child who needs an extra minute gets left behind. In a one-to-one lesson, the lesson moves at their speed, no one else's.
Approved tutors with the Learning Support (SEN) specialism adjust how they teach, visual aids, smaller steps, movement breaks, spoken summaries, to fit how your child learns.
On Find a Tutor, filter by the Learning Support (SEN) specialism to choose tutors who declare special-education experience, every one vetted to the same five-stage standard.
You see your child's calendar, attendance and tutor feedback in your parent account, so you always know what was covered and what comes next.
Describe your child's needs when booking, and share a psychologist or school report if you wish, it is stored privately, and only your child's tutor can see it.
The goal is not only better grades. It is a child who believes they can learn, because every ECZ and Cambridge topic can be reached if it is broken down far enough.
For students
Some of the most successful people learn differently, they just had someone patient who taught them their way. On Bright Minds, that person is your tutor.
