Zambia examination support

Grade 7, 9 and 12 examination support

Focused tuition for Zambia’s key school transitions: Grade 7 Primary School Leaving, Grade 9 progression and Grade 12 School Certificate or GCE. Learn by subject, build exam confidence and choose the right tutor for your pathway.

Choose the right support

Every exam year has a different challenge

A strong foundation at Grade 7, steady progression at Grade 9 and focused subject preparation at Grade 12 each need a different plan. Choose the year below to meet tutors who selected that teaching stage.

ECZ · Primary curriculum

Grade 7: Strong foundations for the next step

Examination pathways in Zambia

Match support to the syllabus, not just the age

A Grade 9 learner following the national curriculum may be working towards school assessments, while a learner of the same age on an international pathway may be preparing for a different qualification. Tell your tutor your board, subjects and assessment year.

ECZ · Zambian national curriculum

The Examinations Council of Zambia administers the Grade 7 Primary School Leaving assessment and Grade 12 School Certificate and GCE. The Grade 9 leaving examination was discontinued from 2026; Grade 9 tuition remains valuable for progression and school assessments.

Cambridge International · Checkpoint, IGCSE and A-Level

Cambridge learners may sit Primary or Lower Secondary Checkpoint, IGCSE or O-Level, then AS and A-Level at different points from the ECZ exam years. Match tuition to the qualification and subject syllabus, not a grade label alone.

Pearson Edexcel & International Baccalaureate

Some Zambian schools also follow Pearson Edexcel International GCSE or International A-Level, or the IB Diploma Programme. These are separate assessment routes; if this is your pathway, ask us about tutor subject and syllabus availability before booking.

Ask about your pathway
Check current ECZ guidance and the Grade 9 examination notice, then confirm your school’s board and entry requirements. Bright Minds provides tuition, not examination registration.
